The background image is a photo taken by NASA’s Hubble Telescope. Called the eXtreme Deep Field, the photo was assembled by combining 10 years of its photographs taken of a patch of sky at the center of the original Hubble Ultra Deep Field. Given that the light from the stars in this picture has been traveling for 13.2 billion years, it is a picture of a small part of the universe a mere 450 million years after the big bang event. Cool, right?
